The 4-pin connections w/ PWM were designed to provide automatic fan RPM control with a motherboard that also supports the PWM feature. Some motherboards are equipped with 4-pin connectors but lack the PWM feature. Upon intallation of a 4-pin PWM fan to such a case, the fan will operate on maximum RPM, creating the excess noise. For motherboards that support PWM, check the PWM option in your BIOS Setup. For location of PWM BIOS settings, please inquire the motherboard's manufacturer or distributor.

2		I am experiencing an interference/rubbing between the fan and heatsink when installing the CNPS9500		306

The CNPS9500 and the CNPS9700 are tower coolers where the fan is installed in a vertical manner. During the handliing of the cooler, if force is exerted on the section that supports the fan, it could result in interference/rubbing between the fan and the heatsink, which would result in malfunctioning of the fan. Please be careful when handling the cooler during unpackaging and installing handle gently with minimal force to avoid any product deformation.
